:: computer morality

            Is there a standard of morality for people using computers? There is a standard of morality because computer users are not supposed to steal files or post copyrighted information as their own, and if they do so, they are supposed to be punished.

2.       Should there be a standard of morality for people using computers? If “yes”, what should that standard be? If “no”, why shouldn’t there be a standard? There should be a standard. With all the activity in the internet world like music sales, movie watching and information sharing, some rules should be in place because without them, people would have the liberty to steal from each other and go unpunished.

3.       Page 25 of your text states “Our legal system doesn’t define what is right and what is wrong.” Is that statement true? Explain. I do not think that statement is true, because we have divisive legislated morality on matters like murdering, stealing, abortion, and gay marriage. There are specific laws allowing or not allowing these activities dealing with personal morals.
